Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Taxation as Major)


The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) programme at Government Degree College, Bandipora is a three-year undergraduate degree structured in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The course aims to equip students with a strong foundation in commerce, finance, and business principles while promoting a multidisciplinary and flexible approach to learning.


Program Framework Duration: 6 semesters (3 academic years), continuous assessment + semester exams Credit Model: NEP-2020 CBCS framework: Each paper carries 4 credits for theory + 2 credits for tutorials / practicals (i.e., 4+2 pattern) Course Components: Major (Core) – Accounting & Taxation (across all 6 semesters) Minor – Management (core management subjects embedded as minors) Ability Enhancement and Skill Enhancement courses Multidisciplinary electives, Value-added, and Introductory courses as per NEP guidelines

  • Cleanliness Drive Organised under Daan Utsav 2025

    Under the banner of Daan Utsav, observed from 2nd to 8th October 2025, the NSS Units of HKM Degree College Bandipora, under the guidance of Programme Officers Prof. Irfan Ahmad and Dr. Wasia Hamid, organised a cleanliness drive on 3rd October 2025 in and around the college premises.


  • Free Medical Camp under Sewa Parv 2025 at KHM GDC Bandipora

    The College Health Care Committee, in collaboration with NCC Cadets, organised a Free Medical Camp as part of Sewa Parv 2025 on September 27, 2025. The camp was made possible with the support of a dedicated medical team of ten experts deputed by the Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, under the efficient leadership of Dr. Tariq Ahmad.


  • One-Day Workshop on Gender Sensitisation under Sewa Parv at HKM GDC Bandipora

    The Department of Sociology, in collaboration with the College NCORD Cell and the Women Empowerment Cell, organised a One-Day Workshop on Gender Sensitisation on 26th September 2025 under the Sewa Parv initiative. The programme aimed at cultivating awareness about gender roles, challenging stereotypes, and promoting a culture of equality and respect within society.


  • District Level Competitions in Connection with Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

    In connection with the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, the NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Bandipora organised District Level Competitions in Painting, Quiz, and Declamation categories on 25th September 2025 at the college campus. The programme was held under the able guidance of NSS Programme Officers, Prof. Irfan Ahmad and Dr. Wasia Hamid, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of GDC Bandipora, GDC Sumbal, GDC Hajin, and GDC Ajas.


  • Plantation Drive under Sewa Parv 2025

    Under the banner of Sewa Parv 2025, the Eco Club and NSS Units of HKM Government Degree College Bandipora organised a Plantation Drive within the college campus on 25th September 2025. The programme was conducted under the able leadership of the respective conveners, Prof. Mohd. Salim (Eco Club) and Prof. Irfan Ahmad (NSS).


  • School Visit under Sewa Parv 2025 by HKM GDC Bandipora

    Continuing the spirit of Sewa Parv 2025, the NSS Units and the College Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Committee of HKM GDC Bandipora, accompanied by faculty members and non-teaching staff, visited Government Middle School Shamthan, Bandipora, on 24th September 2025.


  • Commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

    The NSS Units of the College, in collaboration with the District Police Bandipora, organised a special programme on 24th September 2025 to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The theme of the event was “The Role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the Indian Freedom Struggle and National Unity.”


  • Participation in District-level Sewa Parv Event

    Under the banner of Sewa Parv 2025, the College NCORD Cell, in collaboration with the NSS Units and the Literary and Drama Club, prepared and guided a contingent of 20 students to participate in a grand Sewa Parv event organised by the District Administration Bandipora at Chitternar on 22nd September 2025.


  • Poster Rally on Drug Abuse Prevention

    As part of the series of activities conducted under Sewa Parv 2025, the College NCORD Committee, in collaboration with the NSS Units of the college, organised an Awareness Poster Rally on the theme “Drug Abuse Prevention” on 22nd September 2025.


  • School Visit under Sewa Parv-2025 By GDC Bandipora

    Continuing the spirit of Seva Parv 2025, the NSS Units and College Unnat Bharat Bharat Abhiyan Committee members, along with faculty members and non-teaching staff, visited Government Middle School Malangam on 18th September 2025.


  • Internship under Sewa-Parv

    As part of the 14-Day Internship under Sewa-Parv conducted by the District Municipal Council, the college deputed 15 students to participate in the Internship Program at the Council Headquarters on 17 September 2025.


  • Idea Pitching Session under Startup Idea Challenge Bootcamp

    The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in Bandipora, in collaboration with the Innovation and Incubation Cell of the Government Degree College, Bandipora, organised an Idea Pitching Session on September 2, 2025, as part of the ongoing Bootcamp on the Startup Idea Challenge.


  • E-Yantra Workshop Participation

    Three faculty members from the HKM Government Degree College, Bandipora actively participated in a two-day workshop on “Introduction to Embedded Systems and Robotics” held on 25th and 26th August 2025. The programme was hosted by Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, in collaboration with IIT Bombay.


  • Award Ceremony at 7 J&K BN NCC Kupwara

    Our NCC officer Dr. Nasarul Islam and Cadet Nazrana recieving awards from Director General NCC India.. Dr. Islam recieved the best officer of the year and the Nazrana recieved the Cadet of the year award.....Proud moment for all of us!


  • 79th Independence Day Celebrations at HKM GDC Bandipora

    HKM Government Degree College Bandipora celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and active participation from students, NCC and NSS volunteers, as well as the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The campus was adorned with the colours of the national flag, reflecting the spirit of freedom and unity.


  • Intra-District Competitions Held at HKM GDC Bandipora

    The NSS Units of the College organised an Intra-District Competition on 8th August 2025 as part of the Independence Day Celebrations and the Viksit Bharat Campaign. The event brought together students from Government Degree Colleges Ajas, Sumbal, Hajin, and the host institution, GDC Bandipora, for a day filled with spirited participation and patriotic fervour.


  • Fresher’s Meet Held at HKM GDC Bandipora

    The Office of the Dean Students Welfare, in collaboration with the Admission Committee, successfully organised a Fresher’s Meet on 6th August 2025. The programme was held under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Dean Students’ Welfare and Convener of the Admission Committee.


  • Seminar Competition under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and Independence Day Celebrations

    In continuation of the activities under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and as part of the Independence Day 2025 celebrations, the college NSS Units, under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Mubashir Hamid Mir and Prof. Bilquees Rasool, organised a Seminar Competition on 5th August 2025. The theme for the event was “The Role of J&K Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat @2047.”


  • Essay Writing Competition under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and Independence Day Celebrations

    As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and in continuation of the activities leading up to Independence Day 2025, the college NSS Units, under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Mubashir Hamid Mir and Prof. Bilquees Rasool, organised an Essay Writing Competition on 4th August 2025. The theme of the competition was “The Role of Education in Promoting Peace and Unity.”


  • Tiranga Rally Organised under Har Ghar Tiranga-2025

    As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga–2025 campaign and in the run-up to Independence Day celebrations, the NSS Units and NCC Cadets of the college jointly organised a vibrant Tiranga Rally within the college campus on 04 August 2025. This event was one among a series of patriotic activities scheduled till 15th August, aiming to foster a spirit of national pride and unity.


  • BMC Course at Sonamarg

    Two NCC students, Wahid Hassan (Reg No. JK2024SDIA2180873) and Aamir Farooq (Reg No. JK2024 SDIA2180765) left for Sonamarg today to participate in BMC Course to be conducted from 25th July to 17th August 2025.

    Prof. Sajad Manzoor has always been known for his unwavering dedication to his work and his deep sense of responsibility. A disciplined academic and a committed professional, he brought both formality and grace to every task he undertook. His student-friendly attitude made him highly approachable and admired by learners, while his hardworking nature set an inspiring example for colleagues. His presence will be missed, but his contributions will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
